Watching people interact with your packaging on shelf or secret shopping is the fastest way to prioritize design. Experiencing the Consumer Journey Before Designing Anything is critical to your packaging design process. Yes it's fun to design and solve problems, but going through the journey yourself then watching others go through it will unlock the hurdles keeping your design from being effective.
What's effective? Well, selling your product and being sustainable.
In this episode I give an example from this week's brand workshop where I took a brand to their own stores and distribution centers to walk through every step of the brand's packaging to the consumer. What we uncovered was magical.
