Uwe

Uwe Melichar is an independent expert on circular design and packaging. With his company MELICHAR Bros. he develops solutions for clients around the globe. He believes in the power of agility and is widely linked with many different stakeholders along the design- and packaging supply chain. Before he founded his company he was managing partner at the design agency Factor where he realized packaging projects for adidas, Bosch, C&A, Huawei, Gardena, Omron, Miele and other clients. Most of his customers are based in the various countries of Europe, but Uwe has also worked and continues working for clients in the USA and Asia.
Uwe Melichar is a sought-after keynote speaker, lecturer at several universities and since 2015 member of the Red Dot jury, Red Dot Ambassador and part of the respected Pentawards jury. He is honored lifetime member of the Type Directors Club New York. As an appointed representative from Germany Uwe judges the award ‘Design Europa’ from the European Union. From 2018 to 2022 he was president of the European Brand & Packaging Design Association (epda-design.com) and acts as its vice-president now, representing the association and being responsible for all industry partner contacts.
